Local roots

A century in Creston, North Carolina.

Dr. Knecht and his wife live in Creston with their two sons, Cassius and Callahan. Their family has called this part of western North Carolina home for eleven generations. Today, the four of them are the fifth generation living in the family's mountain home.

That history shapes how the practice is run. This isn't a satellite location for a larger group or an outside operation passing through. It's a small, locally owned practice committed to the community for the long term.

Education

Trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic, the founding school of the profession.

Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa, is where chiropractic care began. It was founded in 1897 by D.D. Palmer, the man who first articulated the principles the entire profession is built on. More than 125 years later, Palmer is still considered the gold standard of chiropractic education.

Dr. Knecht graduated from Palmer with honors in 2024. The training there is rigorous: anatomy, neurology, biomechanics, diagnostic imaging, hands‑on technique under faculty supervision, hundreds of clinical hours. It's the foundation that lets him offer a wide range of techniques and choose the one that's actually right for the person on the table.

It also means a deep commitment to evidence‑based, ethical practice. Palmer graduates are trained to understand both what works and why, and to be honest with patients when something isn't a fit for chiropractic care.
